The official announcement of the movie was made on December 25, 2024, through a playful video. In the clip, Kartik’s character, Ray, humorously discusses how his three previous relationships ended poorly and promises to ensure that his fourth relationship will not have the same fate.

Sharing his excitement in the caption, Kartik wrote, “Your Ray is coming, Rumi. I swear on my mom, this Mumma’s boy always keeps his promises! Super thrilled to return to my favorite genre—Rom-com. #TuMeriMainTeraMainTeraTuMeri… The grandest love story hits cinemas in 2026.”

It is slated for a 2026 theatrical release.

Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar were initially set to work together on Dostana 2, but the project did not materialize. In 2023, the duo announced their collaboration on an untitled patriotic war film directed by Sandeep Modi. While updates on this project remain pending, it was originally planned for a 2025 release.
