Kang Dong Won Doing Comedy With a Broken-Down Car and a Police Chase Is the Korean Film Summer Needs

A smoking car on the side of the road. Five people with wildly different reactions to the same disaster. And a line that sums the whole film up perfectly: “Today, we will stand on stage no matter what.”

The new poster and teaser for Wild Sing have just dropped — and if this comedy film delivers even half the chaotic energy on screen that it promises in its promotional material, it might just be the most fun Korean cinema release of the summer. It hits theatres on June 3, 2026.

What Is Wild Sing About?

Wild Sing follows TRIANGLE — a once-legendary co-ed three-member dance group produced by Yonggu Records — who fell into obscurity after an unfortunate incident. Years have passed. The members have scattered. The public has forgotten them entirely. But Hyun Woo (Kang Dong Won) hasn’t forgotten, and when a rare opportunity to return to the stage appears, he refuses to let it slip away.

The only problem? His former bandmates want absolutely nothing to do with a comeback.

What Kang Dong’s Teaser Reveals?

The teaser traces TRIANGLE’s arc from beloved group to forgotten act, and then picks up years later when Hyun Woo’s desperation to reclaim their moment collides with his former members’ complete indifference. After much pushing, pulling, and persuading, the group finally reunites — and is joined by Sung Gon, the perpetual runner-up ballad prince who adds his own brand of comedic energy to the mix.

What follows is a road-to-the-stage journey packed with obstacles at every turn. A tense police car chase features prominently in the teaser, suggesting the film leans hard into physical, situational comedy rather than just dialogue-driven humour. The poster — five people stranded beside a smoking, broken-down car under a bright blue sky, each reacting in completely different ways — captures the film’s tonal promise perfectly.

Kang Dong Won’s final line directly to camera, “See you soon,” lands with just the right amount of theatrical charm to make you genuinely root for TRIANGLE to make it to that stage.

Why This Cast Makes It Work

The genius of Wild Sing’s ensemble is the contrast it engineers. Kang Dong Won, typically associated with intense dramatic roles, leaning into pure comedy alongside Oh Jung Se — a performer who has proven across multiple projects that he is one of Korean cinema’s most naturally funny actors — creates an irresistible odd-couple energy. Add Um Tae Goo’s grounded screen presence, Park Ji Hyun’s sharp timing, and Shin Ha Kyun’s gift for deadpan calm, and the ingredients for a genuinely great comedy ensemble are all there.
