Some weeks on the Billboard World Albums chart feel like a formality for K-pop. This is one of them. In the ranking for the week ending September 12, nearly every major group in the industry — from chart veterans to red-hot rookies — locked down a spot in the top 20, turning the list into a near-complete who’s-who of current K-pop.

Stray Kids Reclaim the Throne

Stray Kids‘ mini album “THIS & THAT” climbed back to No. 1 in its fourth week on the chart, marking its third non-consecutive week at the top — a strong sign of the album’s staying power rather than a one-week spike. The album also held steady on the Billboard 200 at No. 16 for a fourth straight week.

Right behind them, ENHYPEN‘s “THE SIN : BLISS” took No. 2 in its second week, while NCT 127 made an immediate mark, debuting their new full-length album “BLINGY” straight into No. 3.

The Bigger Story: Longevity Over Hype

What stands out most isn’t just who’s on top this week — it’s how long some of these albums have stayed there. BTS placed three separate albums on the chart simultaneously, including “Proof,” now in its staggering 221st week. CORTIS also landed two entries at once, with their debut EP still charting in its 52nd week alongside their newer release. NewJeans’ “Get Up” continuing to chart in week 156 further reinforces how deep and long-lasting K-pop’s global fanbase engagement really runs, well beyond a typical comeback promotion cycle.

FAQs

Q1. Which K-pop group topped the Billboard World Albums chart this week?

Stray Kids topped the chart with their mini album “THIS & THAT,” marking the album’s third non-consecutive week at No. 1 during its fourth overall week on the chart. This kind of return to the top spot, rather than a single peak followed by a steady decline, generally reflects sustained fan engagement and continued sales or streaming activity well after the initial release excitement fades.

Q2. How many BTS albums appeared on the chart this week, and why does that matter?

BTS placed three separate albums on the World Albums chart simultaneously this week: “Proof” at No. 5, “Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~” at No. 9, and “Love Yourself: Tear” at No. 19. The fact that “Proof” is still charting in its 221st week is particularly notable, since it demonstrates a level of sustained global demand for older catalog releases that is relatively rare in the music industry, highlighting just how enduring BTS’s fanbase engagement remains years after these albums originally released.
