Jung Ho Yeon Makes History On The World’s Biggest Football Stage

When the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final kicked off, few expected a Korean actress to steal a piece of the spotlight before the whistle even blew. Jung Ho Yeon just made global entertainment history — and it happened in the most unexpected way.

Jung Ho Yeon: A Historic World Cup Moment

Ahead of kickoff on July 19, Jung Ho Yeon walked onto the field for the Trophy Trunk ceremony alongside Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, presenting the Louis Vuitton case holding the World Cup winner’s trophy. She took part as a global ambassador for Louis Vuitton, marking the first time a Korean actor has ever participated in an official World Cup final event.

Why This Moment Hits Different

While BTS’s halftime performance was announced well in advance, Jung Ho Yeon’s appearance came as a genuine surprise, catching fans off guard in the best way. It’s another marker of how far Korean stars have moved into truly global cultural moments — not just K-pop or K-drama circles, but the world’s most-watched sporting event.

Adding to her big year, Jung Ho Yeon’s sci-fi film “HOPE” recently crossed 2 million moviegoers in just five days of release, the fastest any film has hit that mark in 2026.
