Jude Bellingham and Rudiger red cards vs Valencia: Real Madrid to appeal

In a dramatic game at Valencia, Jude Bellingham found himself at the center of controversy as he was sent off for expressing frustration after the final whistle denied what seemed like a winning goal for Real Madrid.

Vinicius Jr showcased his prowess with two goals at the Mestalla, a stadium where he previously faced racist abuse, aiding Real Madrid’s comeback from a 2-0 deficit to salvage a point and extend their lead to seven points at the top of La Liga.

Bellingham believed he had secured victory for Real Madrid in the dying moments of the game when he headed in from close range. However, his celebrations were cut short as referee Gil Manzano had blown the whistle to signal the end of the match before the cross had been delivered.

Real Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, expressed his frustration at the unprecedented incident, highlighting Bellingham’s transparent confession of his actions. Ancelotti emphasized that Bellingham’s frustration was understandable given the circumstances but clarified that no insults were directed towards the referee.

Following the match, reports suggest that Madrid will appeal the decision in an effort to overturn Bellingham’s and Rudiger’s red cards, underscoring the club’s determination to rectify the situation.
