Jonathan David is expected to be a top transfer target for next summer. The likes of Manchester United and others are already monitoring the Lille striker’s situation. And at the end of the season, they could move in for him.
The Canadian has had a brilliant start to the season, and is Ligue 1’s top scorer, with nine goals from 11 games so far. He netted twice in Lille’s most recent 3-0 win over Strasbourg, overtaking Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Terem Moffi, all of whom have eight goals.
Jonathan David expected to take up bigger challenge next summer
The 22-year-old is valued at €45 million on Transfermarkt, and has been with Lille since 2020. He was one of the most important players as they won the league in 20/21, and also went on to win the French Super Cup.
The youngster has earned 30 caps for the national team and has provided a steady return of 20 goals for them. So, it is not hard to see why the top clubs in Europe are interested in signing him when the opportunity arises next summer.
But with a contract running until 2025, a transfer for Jonathan David will not be cheap. As a result, only a big money offer will force the French side to sell their star forward.
