Joao Felix transfer news 2023: Shocking Barcelona transfer revealed

Joao Felix transfer news: In a recent interview with Tribuna, Joao Felix has revealed his desire to play for Barcelona. The forward is currently under contract at Atletico Madrid, and extended his deal with them before leaving for Chelsea during the January transfer window.

He had a good time in London during the last six months of the season, but was unable to secure a permanent move to Stamford Bridge. He is now back at Atletico Madrid and has admitted that he is keen on joining their rivals, Barcelona, at a time when his future is extremely uncertain.

His teammates are reportedly furious at the disrespect that he has shown the club. His relation with manager Diego Simeone is also very strained due to his inability to adapt to the playing style. As a result, he could be moved on, especially now that his number 7 shirt has been returned to its former owner, Antoine Griezmann.

“I’d love to play for Barcelona. Barca has always been my first choice and I’d love to join them,” Joao Felix said in an exclusive interview, as quoted by Tribuna.

“It was always my dream since I was a kid. If it happens, it will be a dream come true for me,” the Portuguese concluded.

The forward was close to joining Barcelona in 2022, according to AS. But, the move fell through due to Financial Fair Play regulations. He remains Atletico Madrid’s record transfer of all-time, but hasn’t been able to live up to the price tag since his move from Benfica.

Barcelona have offloaded Ousmane Dembele this summer and could part ways with Ansu Fati too. In spite of signing Vitor Roque, Oriol Romeu and Ilkay Gundogan, they could yet sign another forward in Felix if they can strike a deal with Atletico Madrid.
