JioTag 2 Launched: Reliance’s AirTag Rival Now Works With Both iOS and Android

Losing your keys just got a lot less stressful, and this time Reliance isn’t picking sides between iPhone and Android users. The JioTag 2 has arrived as a successor to the original JioTag, and its biggest upgrade isn’t hardware — it’s compatibility.

What Makes the JioTag 2 Different

Unlike most Bluetooth trackers that lock you into one ecosystem, the JioTag 2 natively syncs with both Apple Find My on iOS and Google Find Hub on Android. That means you manage it entirely through your phone’s built-in location tools — no separate app monopolising your notifications. It’s a similar cross-platform pitch to what TechnoSports covered in its roundup of the best AirTag alternatives in India, though the JioTag 2 goes a step further by tapping directly into Apple and Google’s own crowd-sourced networks rather than a proprietary one.

Specs and Features at a Glance

The tag skips GPS and cellular hardware entirely, relying instead on Bluetooth beaconing and the sheer scale of Apple and Google’s device networks to relay its location when it’s out of direct range — the same trick that made Apple’s original AirTag so effective.

How It Stacks Up Against Rivals

Against typical Bluetooth trackers, the JioTag 2’s biggest edge is network size — it piggybacks on billions of Android and iOS devices worldwide rather than a smaller, brand-specific app community. Against dedicated GPS trackers, it trades real-time location updates for zero recurring data costs and a far smaller form factor. It’s a similar trade-off to the one TechnoSports flagged when covering Xiaomi’s own Bluetooth tracker launch — convenience and price versus true real-time tracking.

Pricing and Availability

The JioTag 2 is priced at Rs. 1,249 and is available now on Amazon.in, making it one of the more affordable AirTag-style trackers in the Indian market with genuinely universal compatibility.

The Takeaway

By supporting both major mobile ecosystems out of the box, the JioTag 2 sidesteps the usual “which phone do I have” dilemma that limits most trackers. At Rs. 1,249, it’s a compelling budget pick for keys, luggage, or gadgets — as long as you’re fine trading real-time GPS precision for a SIM-free, year-long battery life.
