Jio AirFiber, the service provided by the company utilizes 5G FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) and caters, to individuals who do not have access to fiber broadband at their homes or offices. Initially available in eight cities across India including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune. These added cities are spread across states such as Andhra Pradesh, Delhi NCR, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra Tamil Nadu Telangana, and West Bengal. The expansion aims to provide an audience with the advantages offered by Jio AirFiber.

On the other hand, Airtel Air Fiber is currently limited to locations in India; however, Airtel representatives at IMC 2023 have confirmed plans to extend its availability to more cities in the near future.

Jio AirFiber offers a variety of services and plans. Subscribers gain access to over 550 TV channels and subscriptions to 16 OTT apps. The service guarantees Wi-Fi-like connectivity and a strong signal for areas without fiber optic access. Use cases for Jio AirFiber include powering home services such, as surveillance systems, smart home IoT devices, gaming, and home networking systems.

Subscribers will also get a set-top box with 4K resolution and a remote control that can be operated using voice commands. When installing Jio AirFiber you will need to place a unit on your terrace, rooftop, or, outside your home. There is an installation fee of ₹1,000 associated with this. If you choose a plan this fee can be waived.

Jio AirFiber plans start at ₹599 per month (excluding GST) and provide up to 30 Mbps speed with unlimited downloads. The plans also offer access to various OTT services like JioCinema, Sony Liv, Disney+ Hotstar, ZEE5, Sun NXT, Hoichoi, Lionsgate Play, Discovery+, ShemarooMe, DocuBay, ALTBalaji, Universal+, and EPIC. Additionally, users can choose from ₹899 and ₹1199 monthly plans or opt for annual or six-month plans based on their preferences.
