Star Plus Makes Its Big Non-Fiction Comeback

Star Plus is officially gearing up for a very big reality show after a very long time on Indian television. After almost 16 years since Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?, the grand stature of this upcoming venture will reportedly compete with leading television giants like Bigg Boss and Laughter Chefs. That’s a significant statement — and it signals that the channel is hungry to reclaim its dominance in the non-fiction space.

Anil Kapoor — The First Choice Host

According to sources, Bollywood icon Anil Kapoor is the first choice to host the game show. The production team is moving quickly to lock final contract details, and a high-profile promo shoot with him is being scheduled to kick off the promotional campaign. The premium production house backing the venture is Endemol.

Anil Kapoor hosting a marquee reality show feels like a natural fit. His infectious energy, wit, and timeless screen presence are exactly what a show of this scale demands. Think about it — this is the man who could make a game show feel like a Bollywood blockbuster just by walking onto the set.

A Fresh Format That Changes Every Week

Unlike conventional long-form reality series, the upcoming show is said to feature a fresh set of participants every week, bringing new stories, intense challenges, and unpredictable twists to home viewers.

Prior to this show, it was Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan who hosted Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? in 2008 — a quiz show that was massively popular among viewers. Now, with Anil Kapoor potentially stepping into the host’s chair, Star Plus looks set to create another memorable chapter in Indian television history.
