Nottingham Forest have entered the race to sign Jesse Lingard this summer. The newly promoted side have made a contract offer to the midfielder. However, he has not yet made a final decision on his future right now.
Tottenham were rumoured to be interested in his signature. However, they have never considered him as a potential option and have not even considered making a proposal. They have already signed Ivan Perisic and Richarlison in the forward positions, and hence, are not willing to make any more signings in attack.
Jesse Lingard to decide on his future soon
The attacking midfielder has an offer from West Ham United as well, but they are not willing to match his £180,000 per week wages as of yet. The club have made a proposal, but have not finalised his signing as of right now.
The 29-year-old had a very impressive loan spell with the Hammers during the 20/21 season, which has resulted in David Moyes wanting the player back. But it won’t be at the cost of his former wages at Manchester United.
The player didn’t renew his contract with his boyhood club in search of regular first team opportunities. Any project that he will be a part of will require him to be an important part of it. And with the World Cup approaching later this year, he will be prioritising a position in the England national team as well. And for that, regular playing time will be essential.
