Jasprit Bumrah : In the ongoing first Test between India and Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, Jasprit Bumrah etched his name in the record books by claiming his 400th international wicket. The Indian pace spearhead achieved this remarkable milestone on Day 2 of the match, becoming the sixth Indian fast bowler and the 10th Indian overall to reach the 400 wicket mark.

Let’s have a look into more details: Jasprit Bumrah

Bumrah Joins the Elite Club of Indian Pacers

Bumrah’s journey to 400 international wickets has been nothing short of spectacular. With figures of 3/28, he dismantled Bangladesh’s batting order by removing Shadman Islam, Mushfiqur Rahman, and Hasan Mahmud. His feat places him alongside legendary Indian pacers like Kapil Dev, Zaheer Khan, and Javagal Srinath, reinforcing his status as one of the finest fast bowlers India has ever produced.

Quickest to 400

What makes Bumrah’s achievement even more special is the speed at which he reached this milestone. Bumrah achieved 400 wickets in just 227 innings, making him the fifth fastest Indian bowler to do so, behind names like Ravichandran Ashwin and Kapil Dev. His relentless consistency and ability to deliver match turning spells have been key to India’s success across all formats.

Bumrah’s milestone came in style, starting with an inswinger that shattered Shadman Islam’s stumps. He followed up by forcing Mushfiqur Rahman to edge one into the slips and later outfoxed Hasan Mahmud with a delivery that nipped away sharply. Each dismissal was a testament to his versatility as a bowler, capable of swinging the ball both ways while maintaining his signature accuracy and pace.

This achievement is another chapter in Bumrah’s stellar career, which includes numerous match winning performances in Test, ODI, and T20 cricket. Whether it’s his unorthodox bowling action, lethal yorkers, or the ability to swing the ball late, Bumrah has evolved into a complete fast bowler who thrives in all conditions.

A Bowler for All Formats

What sets Bumrah apart is his ability to excel across formats. He has been a mainstay in India’s pace attack in both white ball and red ball cricket, making significant contributions in Test matches, ODIs, and T20s. His adaptability, combined with his lethal pace and accuracy, has made him one of the most feared bowlers in world cricket today.

Jasprit Bumrah’s 400th international wicket is a testament to his hard work, determination, and talent. As he continues to add to his tally, the cricketing world watches in awe of a fast bowler who has redefined Indian pace bowling. With many more years ahead, Bumrah’s journey is far from over, and his legacy in Indian cricket is already firmly established.
