January 12 Vidudala: Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram’s Sankranti Surprise Finally Has a Name

The wait for VenkyAnil5’s title is finally over — and it’s as festive as the release date itself. Venkatesh Daggubati and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s much-anticipated film, earlier known by the placeholder tags VenkyAnil5 and NKRAR2, has officially been titled January 12 Vidudala, meaning “January 12 Release” — a fitting nod to its Sankranti 2027 arrival.

The Announcement

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the makers dropped a nostalgic promo revealing the title, featuring Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram alongside Ravipudi and co-stars Keerthy Suresh and Krithi Shetty. The clip recreates a beloved comedy scene from a classic Telugu film, setting the tone for what’s expected to be a laughter-packed Sankranti entertainer.

January 12 Vidudala: Overview

Why This Pairing Matters

This isn’t Venkatesh and Ravipudi’s first rodeo — it’s their fourth collaboration, following the success of Sankranthiki Vasthunam. For Kalyan Ram, it marks a reunion with Ravipudi after their very first film together, Pataas (2015), making this project a full-circle moment for the director-actor duo.

Ravipudi has built a reputation as Tollywood’s go-to filmmaker for Sankranti releases, and pairing two senior stars from different family banners under one roof is already generating buzz among fans eager to see how their chemistry plays out on screen.

What Else Is Cooking for Venkatesh

Before January 12 Vidudala arrives, audiences will catch Venkatesh in Aadarsha Kutumbam House No: 47 – AK 47, directed by Trivikram Srinivas and releasing October 2, 2026. He also recently appeared in a special role in Ravipudi’s blockbuster Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, starring Chiranjeevi.
