Vivo‘s sub-brand iQOO unveiled the iQOO Neo 5 S and the Neo 5 SE earlier this week, today, iQOO revealed yet another device, the iQOO U5.
The iQOO U5 is a lower mid-range device that runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chip and operates on the Android 12 OS-based OriginOS Ocean out-of-the-box.
iQOO has provided three different storage configurations, 4GB RAM+128GB storage, 6GB RAM+128GB storage, and 8GB RAM+128GB storage options. The device has a MicroSD slot that enables the user to expand the memory of the device all the way up to 256GB.
The iQOO U5 has a 6.58″ FullHD+ LCD display with a waterdrop notch for the 8MP selfie shooter. The rear camera setup comprises a 50MP primary sensor along with a 2MP macro unit. The front and rear cameras support Super Night Scene Mode, however, this feature is not available on the 4GB RAM model.
The rest of the iQOO U5’s highlights include a five-layer liquid cooling system, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Hi-Res Audio, 3.5mm audio jack, and 5G support.
The iQOO U5 has a 5,000mAh battery that arrives with support for 18W charging via a USB Type-C port.
The smartphone’s base variant, the 4GB RAM+128GB is priced at CNY 1,299 ($205 or 15,391 INR), while the 6GB RAM variant is priced at CNY 1,399 ($220 or 16,517 INR), and the 8GB RAM variant is priced at CNY 1,499 ($235 or 17,643 INR).
The iQOO U5 goes on sale in China beginning 1st January 2022 through the company’s official site. There is no word yet if the device will be available in other markets or not.
