The IPL stats between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings tell a story of KKR dominance — and tonight at Eden Gardens, that history gets another chapter. Match 12 of IPL 2026 is underway, and the numbers strongly favour the two-time defending champions heading into this clash.

KKR vs PBKS Head-to-Head: Breaking Down the IPL Stats

When you look at the head-to-head IPL stats, it’s pretty clear: KKR lead PBKS 28–17 across all their meetings in IPL history, according to ESPNCricInfo. That’s a commanding edge.

Eden Gardens has been KKR’s stronghold. They’ve won 16 of 22 home games against Punjab. For anyone tracking the IPL Points Table 2026, a KKR victory tonight keeps them in contention for the top four.

What the IPL Stats Context Tells Us About This Rivalry

Here’s the thing — PBKS aren’t the same team they were three seasons back. The Sarfaraz Khan and Priyansh pairing has brought real firepower to their opening innings, and recent IPL stats show PBKS averaging 185+ in powerplay-friendly conditions.

But here’s what’s worth noting: KKR’s spin attack at Eden — especially Sunil Narine and company — has historically suffocated Punjab’s middle order. That pattern hasn’t shifted much in 2026.

KKR vs PBKS by the Numbers

Here’s what matters for Match 12:

KKR’s overall head-to-head record: 28 wins from 45 matches
PBKS wins: 17
Highest team total in this fixture: 232/2 (KKR, 2014)
Lowest defended total: 133 (PBKS, 2010)
Most runs in this rivalry: Chris Gayle (PBKS) — 972 runs
Most wickets: Sunil Narine (KKR) — 28 wickets

Think about that Narine statistic — 28 wickets against one franchise is just remarkable. Eden pitch reports are suggesting a surface that’ll favour spinners early on, which plays right into KKR’s hands.
