IPL 2024: The excitement is building as the Indian Premier League (IPL) gears up for the 2024 edition. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently dropped some important updates that have left fans and franchises buzzing.

Let’s have a look into more details : IPL 2024: Dubai Set to Host Auction

In a historic move, Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena will be the official venue for the IPL 2024 Auction, set for December 19. This marks the first time the IPL auction will take place outside of India. BCCI explored options, including Istanbul, Turkey, but eventually chose the vibrant city of Dubai. This decision reflects the global appeal of the IPL, making it an even more diverse and dynamic event.

The excitement doesn’t stop at the venue choice. BCCI has also extended the deadline for player retention to November 26. Originally, the retention deadline was set for November 15. The decision to extend this deadline comes as a relief, as it prevents a clash with the Cricket World Cup semifinals. This also ensures that both BCCI and the official broadcaster, Star Sports, can manage their schedules without any hiccups.

The 2024 IPL season comes with a substantial increase in the salary purse for all ten franchises. Each team will have a total of Rs 100 Crore to spend, which is an increase of Rs 5 Crore from the previous season. This boost in financial resources will undoubtedly add an extra layer of excitement to the upcoming mega auction.
