IPL 2023: Schedule, Venues and Teams – Everything you need to know

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most popular cricket tournaments in the world. It is known to be a cash-rich league. Every year, cricket fans wait for the tournament to support their favourite franchise.

The IPL 2023 will start in March or April post-Australia tour of India in 2023, which will end on March 22. The official dates haven’t been decided yet.

Teams

Earlier two franchises were added to the league, namely Lucknow and Gujarat. In IPL 2023, a total of 10 teams will be participating in this tournament. They are Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants.

In 2022, IPL mini-auction was conducted where 991 players registered their names. 405 players went into the hammer. However, there was nothing mini about the auction, Sam Curran was the most expensive player of the slot. he was bought by Punjab Kings for a total of Rs. 18,50 crores.

Venues

Unlike the previous season. the 16th edition of IPL will be held across the country and more matches will be played. It is estimated that a total of 75 matches will be played by May. It’s also reported that each franchise will be playing at least nine home games in the next season of IPL 2023.

Each team will face the other teams twice in the league stage and the top four teams in the points table will qualify for the playoffs.

How to book the tickets

Fans can book the tickets for IPL 2023 on Book My SHOW AND PayTM. The tickets will be available just before the tournament starts.

Where can fans watch IPL?

In India, the matches will be broadcast on Star Sports Network and digitally, the matches will be broadcast on the Jio TV app. Outside India, the matches will get broadcast live on the Times Internet and Viacom 18.
