BCCI selected a total of 405 cricketers for the IPL Auction in 2023 that will take place in Kochi on December 23. Earlier it shortlisted 369 players but with the numerous requests it got from the franchises, it added an extra 36 players. A total of 991 players registered their names for the auction, 405 got shortlisted and only 87 players will be selected.
Of the 405 players, 273 are Indians and 132 are overseas players and 4 players are from associated nations. 119 capped players, 282 uncapped players, and 4 from the associate countries. Of the 87 players that will get selected, 30 are reserved for overseas players.
The highest base price is INR 2 Crore having 19 overseas players who will be going under the hammer. 11 players are in the second highest list of the base price with 1.5 crores. The third highest list is 1 crore, which has Indian players like Manish Pandey and Mayank Agarwal.
England has the highest number of players (27) followed by South Africa (22) and Australia (21) and the West Indies (20). Afghani player Allah Mohammad is the youngest player to get shortlisted being just 15 years old.
Unlike the mega auction for IPL 2022, this time, the mini-auction will take place on December 23 in Kochi. The BCCI also confirmed the time on December 13 which is 2:30 PM IST. The remaining auction pool for the franchises is INR 206.5 crore altogether. SRH has the largest amount of 42.25 crores. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has the smallest t purse of INR 7.05 crore for this auction. the franchises will have numerous options to get the players and wise selection will reward them.
