Afghan player Rashid Khan from Gujarat created history by becoming the fastest international spinner to pick 100 wickets in IPL. He was playing his 83rd match for the new entrant Gujarat Titans and scalped two wickets to reach a ton. He’s the 17th player in IPL from all the other players to achieve this feat.

Rashid Khan has been playing for SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and in 2022 for Gujarat Titans (GT). He’s the third-fastest bowler to achieve this feat after Indian bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Sri Lankan bowler Lasith Malinga. He took 83 matches to achieve this.

Rashid Khan picked Shivam Mavi’s wicket and completed the century. He dismissed Shivam Mavi on the second ball in the 16th over. Rashid is the joint-fastest spinner to pick 100 wickets as he joins Amit Mishra and Ashish Nehra who both took 83 matches. His figure in today’s game was 22/2 from 4 overs which is an economical rate. GT had another win in this league.

Hardik Pandya led Gujarat Titans have made their solid place in IPL 2022 and credit goes to Rashid Khan. He has picked eight wickets for GT while had taken 92 wickets for his former side SRH. Rashid got released by SRH at the end of last season and GT bought him in the Mega Auction. He proved to be a very advantageous player for Gujarat Titans.

1: Lasith Malinga – 70 matches
2: Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 81 matches
3: Amit Mishra – 83 matches
4: Ashish Nehra – 83 matches
5: Rashid Khan – 83 matches

Rashid Khan started his Indian Premier League career with the Sunrisers Hyderabad and appeared for the side in five seasons. He became one of the key players of SRH. However, he was released by Sunrisers ahead of the mega auction in IPL 2022.
