In 2015, the team was banned for two years due to the Lodha Committee inquiry. Later, the team was a part of huge controversy since there were false bids that violated BCCI norms. Strength

The top order of the franchise is quite strong with the presence of Jos Buttler, Jaiswal and Sanju Samson. The batting looks quite sorted and the team also has top bowlers in the team like R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. The squad has the best pace bowlers like Krishna and Boult. The squad has more experienced pace bowlers like Obed McCoy, Kuldip Yadav and Kuldeep Sen, the team honestly looks quite promising.

Weakness

The franchise has got all-rounders in abundance as well as there’s the kiwi duo Jimmi Neesham and Daryl Mitchell but they don’t have a good record on paper. This will greatly impact in deciding the fifth bowling option and there would be some extra added pressure on the senior players as well.
