Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max: The Evolution of Bezels

The iPhone 15 Pro is taking a leap into the realm of incredibly thin bezels, pushing the boundaries to a remarkable extent. Rather than bombarding you with mere numerical figures, the initiative has been taken to envision the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max through mock-ups and draw comparisons with their predecessors from previous years.

The Information Related to iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max

It was back in 2017 when Apple unveiled the iPhone X, a design that, while not a complete surprise, introduced the concept of curving bezels that almost seamlessly extended from edge to edge. At that time, this design felt almost unreal. Since then, Apple has embarked on a gradual journey of refining the iPhone display. They’ve worked on minimizing the notch, introducing the Dynamic Island feature, and continually chiseling away at the bezels. In the iteration of iPhones for 2023, Apple is taking the reduction of bezel size a step further, making a departure from the usual incremental changes and opting for a drastic reduction of over 30%.

Thanks to Computer-Aided Designs (CADs) that were obtained by 9to5Mac and subsequently verified by Mark Gurman, it’s been revealed that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are slated to sport bezels that will set a new record at an astonishingly slim 1.5 mm. The implementation of Low-Pressure Over-Molding (LIPO) technology is making this substantial reduction in bezel size possible. This technology was previously employed in the redesign of the Apple Watch Series 7, resulting in a remarkable thinning of the bezels there as well.

When compared to the already slender bezels of the iPhone 14 Pro, the iPhone 15 Pro manages to further trim down the size. Unfortunately, it appears that the size of Dynamic Island will remain unchanged this year, and due to the slimmer bezels, it becomes even more prominent.

The most remarkable contrast emerges when the iPhone 15 Pro series is compared with its predecessors like the X, XS, and 11 Pro. These earlier models, once considered futuristic marvels in their own right, now appear significantly less advanced in comparison.

The iPhone 15 Pro presents itself as a substantial upgrade, boasting an exquisite front with delicately curved borders. The expectations for this model include features such as a titanium frame, a shift to USB-C, the inclusion of a periscope zoom lens on the Pro Max variant, and, regrettably, an anticipated price increase.
