Intel Core Ultra 9 185H ‘Meteor Lake’ CPU: Enhanced Multi-Core Performance Shines in Leaked Benchmarks

While everyone previously observed benchmark results for the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU on Geekbench 5, those initial outcomes were rather unimpressive, with the chip barely surpassing last-gen Core i7 processors. However, more recent benchmarks now indicate significantly improved performance, particularly in multi-core tests.

In these tests, the CPU’s performance is now comparable to “HX” class enthusiast processors, which not only operate at higher clock speeds but also feature considerably higher TDPs.

The Upcoming Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU Performance Data Leaked

In terms of specifications, the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H “Meteor Lake” CPU is equipped with 16 cores (comprising 6 P-Cores, 8 E-Cores, and 2 LP E-Cores) and 22 threads. It boasts a maximum frequency that approaches the 5.1 GHz mark and offers 24 MB of L3 cache. The CPU is expected to have a thermal design power (TDP) ranging from 28 to 45W. The benchmarked PC configuration included 64 GB of DDR5 memory, although precise specifications are not disclosed.

In recent performance tests, the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H “Meteor Lake” CPU achieved a score of 1873 points in single-core and 13,796 points in multi-core tests. This multi-core performance is notably superior to the Core i9-12950HX, which consists of 8 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores and operates at a higher TDP of up to 157W (PL2). The single-core test results have also improved, although there is room for further enhancement, as the Alder Lake and Raptor Lake processors deliver better performance at similar clock speeds.

With just over a month remaining until the official launch on December 14th, it is likely that additional Intel Meteor Lake CPU performance leaks will surface ahead of the release. Retailers have already begun listing the first laptop designs, with the lineup initially focusing on the mainstream platform and higher-end Core Ultra chip designs expected in early 2024.
