Intel Core i9-14900KS Unveiled: World’s Fastest Desktop CPU Hits 6.2 GHz, Priced at $699, Plus New APO Games Revealed

Intel has recently unveiled the Core i9-14900KS, which they claim is the desktop CPU, in the world. Priced at $699 US this processor boasts a clock speed of 6.2 GHz. The Core i9 14900KS is targeted towards high-performance desktop users looking for top-notch speed and power on a mainstream platform. It aims to cater to enthusiasts who prioritize performance and overclocking capabilities marking an advancement in desktop computing power.

The All New Intel Core i9-14900KS

Featuring a turbo frequency of 6.2 GHz enabled by Intel® Thermal Velocity Boost, the Core i9-14900KS sets standards for desktop processor speeds. It comes with twenty-four cores (eight performance cores and sixteen efficient cores) 32 threads, a base power of 150 watts, 36MB Intel Smart Cache, and 20 PCIe lanes (16 PCIe 5.0 and four PCIe 4.0 lanes).

The enhanced Intel APO support for the i9-14900KS offers up to an 11% performance boost, in supported games with Intel expanding APO support to cover a total of fourteen gaming titles. Furthermore, the processor can handle a maximum of 192GB of DDR5 5600 MT/s or DDR4 3200 MT/s memory and is compatible, with Z790 and Z690 motherboards with the latest BIOS recommended for a gaming and content creation experience.
