Intel Core i9 14900KF Raptor Lake Refresh PassMark CPU Mark test

PassMark has been used to evaluate the Intel 14th Gen Core i9 14900KF desktop CPU, and we have a leaked benchmark that displays the intriguing single-core performance results. Intel’s flagship desktop CPU, a 14th-generation Core i9 processor, passed with flying colors. It scored really well in the PassMark CPU benchmark.

PassMark CPU was used to test Intel’s 14th Generation Core i9 14900KF processor. This leaked Core i9 14900KF benchmark score reveals that it is the fastest CPU in PassMark’s single-core performance rankings. It earns 4,939 points, which is 3.5% higher than the previous-generation processor (Intel Core i9-13900KS), which previously ranked first in this benchmark.

The leaked benchmark for the 14th GenCore i9 14900KF desktop processor suggests that it is 14.4% faster in the single-core benchmark when compared to the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X.

Interestingly, Apple’s new A17 Pro chip, which debuted in the iPhone 15 Pro, is also mentioned in the PassMark single-core performance leaderboards. It performs admirably when compared to the 14th-generation Core i9 processor.

Unfortunately, the Core i9 14900KF performs poorly in PassMark, being outperformed by both the i9-13900K and the Ryzen 9 7950X in the multi-threaded benchmark test.

The Core i9 14900KF does not gain any ground over its predecessor or the 7950X. The 14900KF was virtually evenly matched against the i9-13900K, producing a score that was 0.6% slower than the Raptor Lake counterpart. However, when compared to the Ryzen 9 7950X, the 14900KF performed significantly worse, being 6.7% slower. The 14900KF’s lone significant victory came against its older 12900K predecessor, which was 30% slower than the Raptor Lake Refresh flagship.

The Core i9 14900KF is part of Intel’s forthcoming Raptor Lake Refresh CPU family, which is expected to launch on October 17th. The new chips, as the name implies, are simply a refresh of Intel’s 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPU architecture, with slightly faster core frequencies and extra E-cores on one of the i7 versions. Raptor Lake Refresh chips are also 15% more expensive than Raptor Lake competitors, according to reports.
