This includes 17 new sticker packs, an overhauled sticker tray, and the option to assign custom nicknames for yourself and Group. Instagram Now Lets You Share Live Location in India; Adds New Stickers and Nicknames

Instagram now allows users to share their live location within DM for up to one hour. Take your current spot on the map, so that friends will be able to see where you are much the easier. The feature only applies to 1:1 and group chats, it automatically expires after one hour and it’s turned off by default.

Instagram 2 1 Instagram DM Update: New Stickers, Nicknames, and Live Location Sharing

Your live location cannot be forwarded in other chats. To protect your privacy, Instagram said it will display an indicator at the top of the chat whenever you are sharing your location. Anytime you wish, you can disable the feature. Live location sharing is already available for Instagram in India, but the company did not specify what other countries would get the same option.

People on Instagram can now give nicknames to themselves and their friends in Direct Messaging. These nicknames will only be visible in your chats and are separate from your usernames. You can change these nicknames anytime you like and regulate who can change them in a group chat, too. People you follow can change your nickname by default, but you can adjust this setting as needed.
