Just when you think an affair is the worst thing that can happen to a marriage, this drama proves otherwise. New stills from The Affair Was Just the Beginning reveal that Kim Hye Soo and Kim Ji Hun’s characters are now facing something far darker than infidelity — and the fallout is about to pull in everyone around them.

The Affair Was Just The Beginning- From Perfect Influencers To Cover-Up Partners

The black comedy follows Kyung Hee (Kim Hye Soo) and Jae Hong (Kim Ji Hun), an influencer couple who once sold the image of a picture-perfect family. The new stills show them standing at a demolition site after a hit-and-run accident, faced with the grim task of disposing of a body — a stark fall from their curated, happy-family brand.

Character	Actor	Role In The Chaos
Kyung Hee	Kim Hye Soo	Influencer wife covering up the accident
Jae Hong	Kim Ji Hun	Influencer husband, co-conspirator
Soo Jung	Cho Yeo Jeong	Neighbor with a private connection to Ye Ji
Bo Sung	Kim Jae Chul	Soo Jung’s ex-husband, new complication

The Secret Spreads To The Next Generation

The consequences don’t stay contained to the two leads. Their daughter, Ye Ji (Jeon Si Hyun), turns out to be at the center of the hit-and-run, forcing Kyung Hee and Jae Hong to confront the reality that their choices now endanger their child too. Meanwhile, next-door neighbor Soo Jung is seen in a tense private conversation with Ye Ji, hinting she may know more than she’s letting on.

This kind of tonal whiplash — comedy colliding with high-stakes tragedy — is a hallmark of the black comedy genre, which uses dark or taboo subject matter to create tension alongside humor, making the drama’s premise all the more unsettling as it unfolds.
