Infinix Smart 8 is set to make its debut in the Indian market, following its initial introduction in Nigeria in November 2023. The company has previously disclosed certain specifications and color choices for the Indian version, which is anticipated to closely resemble the global model.
The worldwide variant boasts a Unisoc chipset, an HD+ display, a 50-megapixel dual-camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery. Additional details about the upcoming phone, including its price range, have now been teased by Infinix, along with the announcement of its launch date in India.
The Upcoming Infinix Smart 8
A live Flipkart microsite for the Infinix Smart 8 has been established, confirming its availability on Flipkart post-launch. The company website also features a dedicated landing page for the smartphone, providing a glimpse of its expected price as “₹6,XXX,” indicating a price below ₹7,000. The phone is confirmed to offer up to 8GB of RAM, comprising 4GB of physical RAM and 4GB of virtual RAM, along with 64GB of onboard storage.
One distinctive feature of the Infinix Smart 8 is the Magic Ring, a pill-shaped collapsible island surrounding the centrally located hole-punch cutout on the display. This feature, reminiscent of Apple’s Dynamic Island, facilitates displaying notifications and alerts in a neat and uncluttered manner. In terms of camera capabilities, the Infinix Smart 8 boasts a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an unspecified secondary AI-assisted sensor. The front camera is equipped with an 8-megapixel sensor and claims to be the first in its segment to feature a selfie camera flash.
Ensuring security, the Infinix Smart 8 will incorporate a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, integrated with the power button on the handset’s right edge. The smartphone will be available in four color options: Galaxy White, Rainbow Blue, Shiny Gold, and Timber Black. It is noteworthy that the global version of the Infinix Smart 8 features a Unisoc T606 SoC, a 5,000mAh battery, a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness level of 500 nits. The device runs on Android T Go Edition.
