Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G Launched in India With a Glowing Rear Cube

Most phones ask you to admire the front. The Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G wants you to flip it over. Launched in India on September 4, 2026, it puts a small interactive light display on the back and pairs it with the specs affordable 5G buyers actually care about.

The Rear Cube

Infinix calls it the Active Matrix Cube. It’s a customisable dot-matrix display under the rear cameras that lights up for notifications, calls, charging, and music. It’s a gimmick, but a distinctive one in a segment where phones look alike.

Display and Performance

The phone has a 6.76-inch Full HD+ screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling, and up to 910 nits in high brightness mode. It runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7100 5G with UFS 2.2 storage, and Android 16 with XOS 16.

Camera, Battery and Durability

The main camera is a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor, with an 8MP front camera. A 6,000mAh battery supports 45W fast charging and 10W reverse charging. The IP68 rating covers dust and water, which is uncommon at this price. You also get NFC, stereo speakers, and a customisable AI button that can be assigned to Gemini.

The 6GB/128GB version costs ₹24,999 and the 8GB/128GB version costs ₹27,999. Sales began September 7 at 12 noon on Flipkart, Infinix’s online store, and retail outlets. Buyers get ₹2,000 off with select credit cards or through an exchange, which brings the effective starting price to ₹22,999. Colours are Thermo Orange, Mirage Green, Silk Glow Purple, and Dive Blue.

Who Should Buy It?

It suits buyers who want a big smooth screen, long battery life, and water resistance under ₹30,000 without paying for a premium brand. If you care more about raw performance or a top-tier camera, compare rivals in this range first.

Verdict
