Indian FIFA Athletes Set for Hangzhou Asian Games

Charanjot Singh and Karman Singh, the FIFA players from India, are ready to participate in the highly esteemed multi-sport competition known as the Asian Games 2022. They have embarked on their journey to Hangzhou to take part in the EA Sports FC Online event, which is scheduled to take place from September 24 to 27.

Having been featured as a demonstration event in 2018, Esports will be making its full-fledged debut as an official medal sport at the Asian Games 2022. The Esports event will be held in China Hangzhou Esports Centre from September 24 to October 2, and the athletes will compete for gold medals in seven different titles.

India is set to compete in four out of the seven categories: DOTA 2, EA Sports FC Online, League of Legends, and Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. In order to establish the schedule and opponents for these specific events, a formal draw will be held on September 22. This draw will determine the dates and matches for each of the four titles that India will be participating in.

Charanjot Singh shares his emotions as the tournament approaches, expressing gratitude that the long-held aspiration of representing India at the Asian Games 2022 is about to materialize. Together with Karman, they have been diligently preparing to exhibit their abilities on this prestigious stage against top players from the continent. Their unwavering determination is fueled by the desire to bring honor to their nation and achieve a remarkable medal-winning feat.

The EA Sports FC Online matches will follow a knockout format, culminating in the Grand Finals which are set to take place on September 27th. A total of 34 athletes representing 21 different countries will compete for victory in this exciting competition.

Both athletes left their mark during the recently held seeding event for the Asian Games 2022, with Charanjot Singh securing the top seed in the South Asian region, while Karman Singh secured the fifth seed. The two athletes, who are renowned names in the global FIFA community, earned their places at the Asian Games 2022 by advancing to the finals of the National Esports Championships (NESC), organized by the Esports Federation of India (ESFI).

EA Sports FC Online matches have started, and the League of Legends games will be held between September 25 and 29. Additionally, the Street Fighter V: Champion Edition matches are scheduled for September 26 to 28. As for DOTA 2, the matchups are planned for September 29 to October 2.
