Idol I Episode Guide

What Happened in Episodes 3-4?

The recent episodes delivered emotional revelations and escalating stakes. Ra-ik opened up about his traumatic childhood as an exploited child singer, explaining how late Gold Boys member Woo-sung became his anchor during those dark years. After being financially ruined by his mother’s debts and losing everything, Ra-ik found refuge with Se-na, who vowed to prove his innocence.

The investigation took complicated turns when ex-girlfriend Hong Hye-ju re-emerged, confessing she met Ra-ik the night of Woo-sung’s murder. Meanwhile, dash cam footage revealed fellow Gold Boys member Choi Joon-hee near Ra-ik’s house that same night, widening the suspect pool. Se-na fought fiercely to protect Ra-ik from invasive media coverage and prosecution pressure, culminating in an unexpected emotional moment when Ra-ik impulsively hugged her in gratitude. Episodes 5-6 Preview: Danger Intensifies

The upcoming episodes promise heightened suspense following the mysterious car accident that ended episode 4. Se-na and Chung-jae will investigate whether the crash was intentional—potentially an assassination attempt on Ra-ik. This raises urgent questions about who might hold a grudge powerful enough to want him dead.

Political forces begin interfering with the case, pressuring Se-na to drop Ra-ik as her client. Simultaneously, prosecutors intensify their investigation of the remaining Gold Boys members, suggesting the murder case goes deeper than initially believed. Amid this turmoil, Ra-ik becomes increasingly vulnerable, confiding in Se-na about his struggles with expressing love—hinting at deeper emotional revelations between the two leads. The Murder Mystery Deepens

Written by Kim Da-rin and directed by Lee Kwang-young, Idol I masterfully blends legal thriller elements with intimate character development. The show explores the dark side of idol culture—exploitation, toxic fan relationships, and the pressures of fame—while centering on Se-na’s determination to uncover the truth behind Woo-sung’s death.

Ra-ik’s complicated past with Hye-ju, his strained relationships with former bandmates, and Se-na’s growing emotional investment create layers of complexity. As evidence mounts and new suspects emerge, viewers are left questioning everyone’s motives. The chemistry between Kim Jae-young and Choi Soo-young has been praised for adding depth to what could have been a straightforward legal drama.
