Is There an HxH Season 6? Yes — It’s Already on Netflix!
Hunter X Hunter is a Japanese anime series based on the manga of the same name by author Yoshihiro Togashi. The anime series is the second time the manga has been adapted, but has arguably been far more successful than its 2002 counterpart.
Season 6 — covering the 13th President Election Arc — is already available to stream. Seasons 5 and 6 arrived on Netflix in August 2021 for US viewers, and are available with all 148 episodes across regions including India, France, Belgium, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
Why Did the Anime Stop After Season 6?
Unfortunately, there are only six seasons of Hunter X Hunter as the anime came to an abrupt end in 2014. This was due to the anime catching up to the manga series, which led to author Yoshihiro Togashi taking a break for health reasons.
That hiatus lasted years — but things have changed dramatically since. Togashi returned to the manga in 2022 after a multi-year absence, resuming the Succession Contest arc and the highly anticipated Dark Continent arc. With new manga chapters now actively being published, the source material for a new anime season is slowly building up.
While there’s no confirmation that the anime is returning, due to the fact there is so much more to adapt, Hunter X Hunter is destined to return eventually. Art Threat
