Huawei Mate 60 Pro emerges as a notable successor to the previous year’s Huawei Mate 50 Pro, boasting a host of significant enhancements that include the novel addition of satellite calling capability and an innovative LTPO AMOLED display.

This handset showcases a generous 6.82-inch AMOLED display, characterized by an adaptable refresh rate spanning from a minimal 1Hz up to an impressive 120Hz, coupled with a rapid 300Hz touch sampling rate. The device is offered in three storage configurations and notably features three discreet hole-punch cutouts situated at the display’s upper portion, housing both a front-facing camera and a sophisticated 3D time of flight (ToF) sensor.

Regarding pricing and availability, the Huawei Mate 60 Pro is initially priced at CNY 6,999 (approximately ₹79,400) for the variant with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Details about pricing for the 256GB and 1TB storage options are yet to be disclosed. The device is presented in a palette of captivating colors, including Akawa Sei, Southern Waxy Purple, White Sand Silver, and Yadan Black, each exuding a unique charm.

As of now, the handset is accessible for pre-order through the Vmall online store. However, the company has not provided any information about the possibility of these phones becoming available in other global markets.

Delving into the technical specifications and features, this dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone operates on HarmonyOS 4.0, a proprietary operating system by Huawei. A defining feature is its expansive 6.82-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, boasting LTPO technology that facilitates an adaptive refresh rate, intelligently ranging between 1Hz and 120Hz. Notably, the device supports a touch sampling rate of 300Hz and employs 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming technology.

The handset exhibits a trio of hole-punch cutouts strategically positioned at the upper portion of the display, accommodating both a cutting-edge selfie camera and a sophisticated 3D ToF sensor. Enhancing durability, the display is fortified with Huawei’s second-generation Kunlun glass, exemplifying a commitment to robustness.

Regarding the processor driving the smartphone, the specific details have yet to be disclosed by the company. The freshly unveiled Huawei Mate 60 Pro presents configurations with up to 12GB of RAM and storage capacities that extend up to a staggering 1TB.

The ensemble comprises a 50-megapixel primary sensor fortified with OIS support, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48-megapixel telephoto sensor that is further bolstered by OIS support and an impressive 3.5x optical zoom capability. For capturing selfies and facilitating video calls, the device houses a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle front camera alongside a sophisticated 3D depth camera.

Setting it apart from its contemporaries, the phone introduces satellite calling functionality, enabling users to place calls even in scenarios where cellular network connectivity is lacking. Fueling the device is a robust 5,000mAh battery, supporting an array of charging options that encompass rapid 88W wired fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging, and 20W reverse wireless charging.
