Unlocking Vaporeon Through the Refracted Melody Challenge
Vaporeon is tied to a limited-time event called Vaporeon’s Refracted Melody Challenge, available until December 16, 2025. Unlike most Pokémon, you can’t purchase Vaporeon directly—yet. Learn more about Pokémon UNITE’s latest updates on the official site.
How the Event Works
The challenge operates like a board game where you progress by rolling dice and completing missions:
- Daily Login Dice: Log in each day to earn a single event die. Use it before the next reset or lose it.
- Rolling & Rerolling: Advance across the board with your dice rolls. Spend Aeos Coins to reroll, with up to five rerolls allowed per die.
- Tile Missions: Landing on tiles triggers challenges like winning matches or using specific Pokémon. Finish the task to roll again, or bypass it by spending 5 Aeos Gems.
- Bonus Dice: Earn up to 10 extra dice via the Support Log-In Bonus and Coin Collection Challenge to speed up progress.

Collecting Refracted Melody Coins
You’ll need to collect 1,000 Refracted Melody Coins to claim Vaporeon’s Unite License. Each completed board grants coins, with most runs awarding 100 coins (90% chance) or 150 coins (10% chance). Plan for approximately 7-10 board completions depending on your luck.
Event Rewards Beyond Vaporeon
The Refracted Melody Challenge offers multiple rewards:
- Vaporeon’s Unite License (1,000 coins)
- Exclusive Profile Background
- Limited Frame Cosmetics
- Bonus Items & Resources
The commemorative event also provides a 3-Day Trial License for testing Vaporeon before committing coins.
What Makes Vaporeon Special?
The Bubble Jet Pokémon starts every battle as Eevee and evolves into Vaporeon at Lv. 4. Its unique kit includes:
- Water Absorb Ability: Grants a water shield that nullifies damage and restores HP when triggered
- Hydro Pump: Launches pressurized water that pushes and damages opponents
- Aqua Ring: Creates healing waves for teammates
- Aquamarine Splash (Unite Move): Dives underwater, pulls enemies in, then leaps out dealing massive damage

Post-Event Availability
Once the event ends, Vaporeon will be available in store. Players can then purchase the Unite License with Aeos Gems or Coins through regular shop channels. The exclusive Checkered Style Holowear costs 890 Aeos Gems but requires owning Vaporeon first.
