How Huawei is making use of the recently licensed Samsung displays?

A recent report has just come out from a Korean news outlet that Huawei can order Samsung displays again as Samsung’s display division has got a new license from the US government that they can work with Huawei again. In the past, Huawei has used OLED products from Samsung for its P30 series of smartphones. As per some sources, Samsung Display is the first South Korean company ever to earn such approval from the U.S. after the government’s restrictions against Huawei. But, for some internal tensions, Samsung has decided not to work with Huawei again. From September 15 onwards Huawei’s trade was restricted with Samsung and LG displays.

As of now, we’ve only one confirmed news that Huawei can order Samsung displays again, which means the trade will go on. But it is still not sure from which day Samsung can actually start shipping its displays to Huawei. Samsung has to be licensed from the US for further workings.

Apart from it, another competition can happen from other panel manufacturers which include BOE and TCL-CSOT as the issue is centered around the driver and touch ICs used for the displays. They have been on the list to work with the South Korean tech giant Samsung as there will be no hands by US trade restrictions. In terms of AMD and Intel, these great firms can now supply powerful processors for Huawei’s computers and servers.

If for any reason, Huawei is not able to combine potential new Samsung display orders with other vital smartphone components (like high-end processors and other stuff). On the other hand, Intel and AMD have also recently become licensed to work with the OEM. In the upcoming days, the next-gen PCs may come with Samsung OLED displays with the latest processors as well as the powerful graphics from Huawei or Honor. It can be a huge step from Huawei to work with Samsung display, and using this in its own devices.
