Cheers, fans! The sweeping period drama from the creator of Peaky Blinders is officially pouring a second round. House of Guinness has secured a Season 2 renewal at Netflix, and the journey to get here was anything but smooth.

House Of Guinness: The Renewal Was Touch And Go

For months, fans were left wondering whether the Guinness family saga would continue. Earlier reports suggested plans for a second season had stalled, but that turned out to be inaccurate. Cameras are now expected to roll on the new season in January 2027, with production company Kudos returning, once Steven Knight wraps the new Peaky Blinders seasons he’s also working on.

How Did Season 1 Actually Perform?

Here’s where things get interesting. The numbers weren’t an instant blockbuster smash, but they were strong enough to secure renewal.

Week	Period	Hours Viewed	Weekly Rank
1	Sep 21–28, 2025	35.7M (new entry)	#3
2	Sep 28–Oct 5, 2025	44.4M (+24%)	#3
3	Oct 5–12, 2025	23.8M (-46%)	#8
4	Oct 12–19, 2025	14.7M (-38%)	#9

By the end of its fourth week in the global top 10, the show had racked up roughly 118.6 million viewing hours, translating to about 17.1 million completed viewing equivalents. While that placed it behind UK giants like Baby Reindeer and Adolescence, the real factor working in its favor was sustained popularity across the UK and Ireland, where it held strong daily rankings.

What’s Coming In Season 2? (Spoilers Ahead)

Season 1 ended on a massive cliffhanger, with a shot fired at Arthur Guinness during an electoral rally, leaving his fate unconfirmed. Here’s what fans can expect next:

The story will likely dive into Arthur’s growing paranoia and political ambitions if he survives, while escalating the Guinness-Cochrane family feud. The Guinness empire’s expansion into America also opens the door for a transatlantic power struggle. Meanwhile, the family’s philanthropic efforts and the messy romantic entanglements involving Olivia, Edward, and Esme are set to continue driving the drama forward.
