Honor’s European Foldable Success Story
Honor has achieved remarkable growth in Europe’s book-type foldable market, tripling its market share from 11% to 34% in 2024, according to Counterpoint Research. This makes Honor the fastest-growing foldable OEM in Europe, positioning the Magic V5 as a serious competitor in the premium segment.
The European foldable market shows strong potential, with forecasts suggesting foldables will reach nearly 10% of premium smartphone sales in the region by 2028. Honor’s aggressive expansion demonstrates confidence in this growing market.
Magic V5: Lightest and Most Advanced Yet
At just 217 grams, the Magic V5 claims the title of world’s lightest foldable phone while maintaining an ultra-slim 8.8mm profile. The device features dual OLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates, Dolby Vision support, and impressive 5000 nits peak brightness with 4320Hz High Frequency PWM dimming for eye comfort.
The camera system includes a 64MP 3x periscope telephoto lens, while the robust 5820mAh battery supports 66W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. IP58 and IP59 ratings provide dust and water resistance, addressing durability concerns common with foldables.
Magic Pen Support and Premium Features
The global version will support Magic Pen functionality, enhancing productivity for business users and creative professionals. This stylus integration positions the Magic V5 as a comprehensive productivity tool rather than just a flagship smartphone.
Honor’s focus on premium build quality, combined with cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite performance, creates a compelling package for users seeking flagship foldable experiences without compromising on portability.
The August 28 London launch will reveal pricing and availability details for global markets. With Honor’s proven European success and impressive specifications, the Magic V5 could reshape foldable smartphone preferences worldwide.
