Here’s what the Android 12 Go edition will bring to your supported smartphones

Android 12 has been available since the beginning of the year, and Google has also announced Android 12L, which is a feature drop for foldable devices, Chrome OS devices, and tablets. Google has finally released Android 12 (Go edition), the most recent version of Android for all entry-level devices.

Google has been working on Android (Go edition) since 2017 and has released several versions with new features that have improved the overall Android experience on low-cost and entry-level devices. According to Google’s latest blog post, Android 12 (Go edition) will take things a step further by bringing faster, smarter, and more privacy-friendly features to the upcoming device. The next-generation Android 12 (Go edition) devices will be released next year and will provide users with a slew of new features.

Google claims that Android 12 (Go edition) will reduce app start times by up to 30% compared to the previous version. On lower-end phones, this should vastly enhance the experience. Google has launched the SplashScreen API, which allows app developers to give customers a pleasant experience when they launch their favorite apps.

Improved Battery Life

Android 12 (Go edition) will also have additional battery-saving capabilities, such as the ability to hibernate apps that have been idle for an extended period. Hibernating apps will also free up some storage, which could be handy for devices with limited internal storage. Additionally, you will have access to an updated Files Go app which will restore deleted files of users within 30 days.

Features that are better and smarter

Additionally, Google is bringing some new modifications with Android 12 (Go edition) that will make the version considerably smarter. To begin, the recent applications screen will have new options for listening to news and translating any on-screen material into a different language.

App Sharing Made Easier

Google is aiming to make the guest user experience on Android 12 (Go edition) as simple as possible. The company will make it easier for you to share your device with friends and family without worrying about privacy. Profiles may be accessible directly from the lock screen, allowing you to switch to a guest profile without having to unlock the device.

Improved Privacy Protection

Moving forward, Android 12 (Go edition) will bring greater transparency to apps that have access to your data. You’ll also have more options for deciding how much information the apps have access to. The new update will include a redesigned privacy dashboard that will show you which apps are gaining access to specific types of sensitive data, such as the microphone, and will allow you to revoke permissions if necessary. The status bar indicators for the microphone and camera will be present in the Go edition, just as they are in Android 12.

Android 12 (Go edition) will be available on new devices next year, as previously stated. Google has not provided any additional details about the update at this time, but we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
