What Happened in Lock Upp 2?
Harshad Chopda chose to sacrifice his place in the grand finale to save his friend and fellow contestant Shivangi Joshi from elimination, in one of the most emotional moments of the season. Just a day after becoming the show’s first finalist in the “Dawat-e-Jung” task, Harshad made the surprising decision to withdraw himself from the game entirely to protect Shivangi.

How It All Unfolded
Harshad had become the first finalist after winning Sunday’s task, while Shreya Kalra simultaneously earned a special power allowing her to eliminate one contestant — a power she chose to use on Shivangi, putting her journey in the show at risk. On Monday’s episode, host Riteish Deshmukh asked Shreya if she wanted to reconsider, but she stood by her decision.
Jailer Riteish Deshmukh then gave Harshad a difficult choice: accept Shivangi’s elimination, or terminate himself and make her the first finalist instead. Without taking much time, Harshad decided to sacrifice his own place in the competition, officially making Shivangi the first finalist of the season</cite>.
The Backlash And Support
The gesture didn’t sit well with everyone watching. The move left the internet divided, with many accusing Shivangi of guilt-tripping Harshad into taking the decision, especially after their earlier “Dawat-e-Jung” task had already sparked accusations of “emotional manipulation”.
Several housemates felt Harshad had been emotionally burdened after the previous task, and expressed sympathy for him, pointing out that despite becoming the season’s first finalist, he spent most of the episode crying before making the difficult decision.
Where Things Stand Now
The emotional farewell left both Harshad and Shivangi in tears, with his sudden exit leaving the rest of the contestants stunned. With the grand finale fast approaching, Shivangi now enters as the season’s confirmed first finalist — a twist reminiscent of the emotional strategy seen throughout the reality television genre, where personal bonds often collide directly with competitive stakes.
