Aamir Khan Productions’ latest venture, Happy Patel: Khatarnaak Jasoos, has stumbled at the Indian box office despite the creative backing of one of Bollywood’s biggest names. The spy comedy starring comedian Vir Das witnessed a dramatic Monday crash, signaling trouble for the January 16 release.

Happy Patel: Monday Blues Hit Hard

The film collected a mere ₹40 lakh on its first Monday, marking a catastrophic 70% drop from Sunday and 60% from opening day. This brings the four-day total to just ₹4.15 crore net—numbers that spell disaster for any theatrical release in today’s market.

Day	Collection	Change
Day 1 (Thu)	₹1.10 Cr	Opening
Day 2 (Fri)	₹1.25 Cr	+13.6%
Day 3 (Sat)	₹1.40 Cr	+12%
Day 4 (Mon)	₹0.40 Cr	-71.4%
Total	₹4.15 Cr

What Went Wrong?

While Aamir Khan’s involvement generated initial buzz, the promotional material failed to ignite audience interest. Word-of-mouth remained lukewarm, effectively sealing the film’s fate within its opening weekend. Industry experts project a lifetime collection between ₹6-8 crore—a disappointing figure for any star-backed production.

The spy comedy features Mithila Palkar, Mona Singh, and Sharib Hashmi in supporting roles, with surprise appearances from Imran Khan and Aamir Khan himself. However, these cameos couldn’t salvage the film’s theatrical prospects.
