Happy Anding Teaser: Three Struggling Comedians Laugh at Their Own Jokes, and Nobody Else Does

Ten years of trying, zero fame and a lot of questionable costumes. That’s life for the comedy trio at the centre of tvN’s upcoming drama Happy Anding, and the first teaser shows they’re having fun even if the audience isn’t.

Happy Anding: Drama Details

The Premise

Happy Anding follows three comedians who have spent 10 years struggling as unknowns. After they meet a mysterious woman, they set out to find new futures for themselves. It’s a coming-of-age story, but one about people who are no longer young, which gives it a different kind of heart.

Meet the Trio

The comedy group is called Asura. Kang Hoon plays Kang Tae Gu, the team’s leader. Cho Hyun Chul plays Kim Nam Il, the witty performer of the group. Kim Jung Jin plays Han Jun Seo. Together they make up a trio built on friendship, loyalty and not much success.

What the Teaser Shows?

The first teaser, released on October 16, shows the chaotic everyday lives of Asura. It’s full of hilarious costumes and strange antics. As the title of the teaser says, they laugh at their own jokes, which suggests they may be the only ones who do. The mix of silliness and sincerity looks like the drama’s main appeal.

“Just Trust and Follow Me”

Kang Tae Gu confidently leads the team, telling them to trust him and follow. It’s a funny line given how their careers have gone so far. People around them think the trio are a nuisance, but they remain steadfast in their resolve to pursue comedy. That stubborn optimism is probably what the drama’s title is hinting at.

Where to See the Cast Now?

If you want to see the actors before the premiere, Kang Hoon appears in My Bias, My Boss on Viki. Cho Hyun Chul appears in the film Dirty Money.
