Bollywood fans, take note — the Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan reunion is giving us a lot to talk about. While currently busy promoting their upcoming horror comedy Bhooth Bangla, the iconic duo dropped some exciting updates on two of the most anticipated films on everyone’s radar: Haiwaan and Hera Pheri 3. Here’s the full breakdown.

Haiwaan Is Coming — Probably in August
During a recent interaction, Priyadarshan stated that Haiwaan will release around 90 days after Bhooth Bangla, while Akshay Kumar added it could land “somewhere in August.”That’s a clearer timeline than fans have had in a while, and it’s genuinely exciting.
Haiwaan stars Akshay Kumar in a negative role, with Saif Ali Khan playing the protagonist in this gritty action thriller. The film has already completed its shoot. Adding another layer of intrigue, the movie reportedly also features a guest appearance by Mohanlal — Priyadarshan’s long-time favourite collaborator — which has fans buzzing even more.
And About Hera Pheri 3…
This is where things get a little complicated, and honestly, a little heartbreaking for franchise loyalists. When asked about Hera Pheri 3, both Akshay and Priyadarshan said they have no clue about it so far.
The reason? There’s an ongoing legal dispute between producers Firoz Nadiadwala and Vijay Kumar over ownership of the Hera Pheri franchise. Vijay Kumar claims he holds the IP rights and insists he wants to make Hera Pheri 3 with Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty. Until that legal cloud clears, don’t expect any movement.
Bhooth Bangla: The Reunion First
Before any of that, Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan are reuniting on screen with Bhooth Bangla on April 10, 2026 — their first collaboration since Khatta Meetha in 2010. The film boasts a packed ensemble including Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and many more.
