Gun Drawn, Guard Down: “The Husband” Sets Up Its Next Big Mystery

Just when you thought “The Husband” couldn’t get any tenser, KBS 2TV drops a still of Namkoong Min pointing a gun straight at a mysterious new face — and suddenly the whole board shifts.

Tonight’s episode promises a face-off nobody saw coming, between a man who’s already crossed every line to save his wife, and a woman whose identity might change everything.

The Husband: Overview

Where We Left Off

“The Husband” follows Kang Tae Joo, a man on the edge of divorce who gets pulled into a life-or-death struggle with a dangerous criminal to save his wife. The last episode ended on a gut-punch cliffhanger: after escaping police custody, Kang Tae Joo teamed up with Lee Soo Hyung (Park Byung Eun), only to suddenly appear on the monitor screen of Noh Man Hee (Kim Dae Myeung) — leaving fans scrambling to figure out what he’s really planning.

What’s Coming Tonight

New stills show Kang Tae Joo lying in wait before confronting Kim Kyung Ae (Lee Sang Hee) the second she steps into her own home — gun raised, anger barely contained. She looks shaken, but there’s something unreadable in her expression too, enough to throw even Kang Tae Joo off balance.

Who exactly is Kim Kyung Ae, and why does Kang Tae Joo target her the moment they meet? That mystery is clearly the hook driving tonight’s episode forward.

Why Fans Are Hooked

Revenge-driven, morally gray thrillers like this one tap into a storytelling tradition that’s long defined prestige Korean television, often blending domestic drama with high-stakes crime plotting — a genre evolution documented on Wikipedia. Namkoong Min, known for his intense, layered performances, seems tailor-made for a role that keeps shifting between vulnerable husband and dangerous man on the run.
