Ten years is a long time for a drama to stay this beloved. Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, globally known as Goblin, is proving exactly that with a brand-new reunion special, and its first teaser dropped July 2 with all the warmth fans remember.
What Guardian: The Lonely and Great God Shows?
Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, and Yoo In Na come together for the first time in a while to plan a nostalgic trip back to Gangneung, one of the drama’s most iconic filming locations. Kim Go Eun lights up with excitement the moment Yoo In Na walks into the restaurant, and the two immediately team up to playfully tease Gong Yoo — especially since Lee Dong Wook couldn’t join due to prior commitments.
The dynamic gets even funnier when Kim Go Eun turns unusually polite around Gong Yoo, prompting him to tell her to just act normal, while jokingly exposing that she only calls him “sunbae” out of formality but happily makes him do all the work. Amid the chaos of planning, Yoo In Na sums up their bond best, laughing that he never loses patience with them no matter how much they annoy him.

Why This Reunion Matters
Goblin remains one of Korean drama’s most influential exports, credited with helping fuel the genre’s global streaming boom when it first aired. The original Guardian: The Lonely and Great God captivated audiences worldwide with its blend of fantasy, romance, and folklore, and a decade later, its cast reuniting to revisit filming locations shows just how enduring that connection remains for both the actors and their fans.
With behind-the-scenes stories and personal reflections promised throughout the special, this anniversary episode looks set to be a heartfelt trip down memory lane for longtime viewers.
