Something is cooking — and the GTA 6 community can smell it from miles away. Within the span of just 24 hours, three separate signals have fired simultaneously, and fans are now convinced that a massive GTA 6 reveal is landing as early as next week.

Here’s everything that’s happened, broken down.

GTA 6: The Game Informer Email That Started It All

The biggest trigger is a mysterious subscriber email from Game Informer — the same magazine that famously gave GTA 5 its first major cover story. The email reads: “On the magazine side of things, we’ve basically shipped our next issue, and we’re so excited to reveal that [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED] will be gracing its cover next week.” RockstarINTEL

Four redacted words. Four syllables. Grand. Theft. Auto. VI. The dots practically connect themselves.

Game Informer is known to be the first outlet to have previewed GTA 5, which is why many fans believe the four redacted words stand for Grand Theft Auto VI. X

The PlayStation PS4-to-PS5 Push

That’s not all. PS4 players have started receiving direct messages from PlayStation encouraging them to upgrade to PS5, with one version reading: “Grand Theft Auto VI is on your wishlist. Get a PlayStation 5 today to be ready for when Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026.” Sportskeeda

Sony also mentioned GTA VI alongside its first-party studio titles during a recent PlayStation presentation — and PlayStation’s “Next Level Deals” are set to kick off from May 13, 2026, fuelling speculation that pre-orders could go live next week. Khel Now

Signal	What It Suggests
Game Informer redacted email	GTA 6 magazine cover reveal next week
PlayStation PS4 upgrade push	November 19, 2026 release confirmed, PS5-only
Sony mentions GTA 6 in presentation	Marketing officially underway
PlayStation “Next Level Deals” (May 13)	Pre-orders possibly imminent

Should You Get Hyped?

Cautiously, yes. Most fans now believe May 12 is the day Rockstar Games will drop GTA 6 Trailer 3, with the PlayStation activity and Game Informer email together seen as enough to assume major news is incoming next week. PC Quest

That said, Game Informer is not quite the publication powerhouse it once was — it has changed hands, has lower circulation, and Rockstar did not offer them the Red Dead Redemption 2 preview, making it seem unlikely they’d get the GTA 6 exclusive. RockstarINTEL

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently confirmed for a November 19, 2026 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
