GOT7’s Park Jinyoung Returns to Small Screen: “Shining” Sets March 6 Premiere with Kim Min Ju

Park Jinyoung is ready to charm viewers once again! The GOT7 member-turned-actor has officially confirmed his next romantic K-drama Shining alongside rising star Kim Min Ju will debut on March 6, 2026. Fresh off his emotional performance in Our Unwritten Seoul, Jinyoung tackles another heartfelt romance that promises to tug at viewers’ heartstrings.

Shining K-Drama: Everything You Need to Know

From Teenage Crush to Adult Romance

Shining weaves a tender narrative about Yeon Tae Seo (Park Jinyoung), a pragmatic train conductor who lives by facts rather than fantasies. At 19, he fell for the vibrant Mo Eun Ah (Kim Min Ju), a spirited high school student with dreams as bright as her personality. Life pulled them apart, transforming Eun Ah from a hopeful hotelier into the manager of a traditional Korean guesthouse in Seoul.

When destiny reunites them years later, the chemistry they once shared refuses to remain buried in the past. The newly released poster beautifully captures this nostalgia—showing the pair sitting beneath a tree, backpacks beside them, gazing across a serene field. The tagline “Us, who were special” speaks volumes about rediscovered first love.

Powerhouse Creative Team

Director Kim Yoon Jin, who captured hearts worldwide with Our Beloved Summer, brings her signature emotional intelligence to this project. Her talent for portraying complex relationships through subtle moments rather than grand gestures has earned her international acclaim.

Writer Lee Sook Yeon, celebrated for her introspective character work in A Piece of Your Mind, crafts dialogue that resonates with authenticity. Her scripts explore how dreams evolve from youth to adulthood, making characters feel real rather than manufactured.

Why This Drama Deserves Your Attention

Park Jinyoung’s Acting Evolution: Beyond his success with GOT7, Jinyoung has proven his dramatic chops in emotionally demanding roles. His understated acting style—conveying depth through microexpressions—makes him perfect for nuanced romance.

Kim Min Ju’s Breakthrough Moment: The former IZ*ONE member has been steadily building her acting portfolio, and this role opposite an established co-star could solidify her position in the drama landscape.

Pure Romance in Action: While many 2026 dramas lean toward thriller and fantasy elements, Shining offers refreshing simplicity—two people navigating the complexities of rekindled love without external villains or convoluted plot twists.
