GIGABYTE Z890 PLUS Series Motherboards Unveiled With Ultra Turbo Mode

GIGABYTE has just unveiled its Z890 PLUS Series motherboards, and two exclusive technologies make this launch worth paying close attention to. Built specifically for Intel Core Ultra 270K Plus and 250K Plus processors, the PLUS Series introduces Ultra Turbo Mode and D5 Duo X — features that push mainstream platform performance well beyond what most boards in this segment can offer.

GIGABYTE Z890 PLUS Series: Key Features at a Glance

Ultra Turbo Mode: One Click, Up to 40% More Performance

This is the headline feature. GIGABYTE’s exclusive Ultra Turbo Mode unlocks three progressive performance tiers for Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus K-SKU owners — all accessible with a single click in the BIOS:

LV1 Intel 200S Boost activates by default, delivering instant gaming gains via precision overclocking. LV2 Turbo Mode pushes FPS further with optimised core curves and aggressive memory acceleration. LV3 Extreme Mode goes all-in — maximum aggression for competitive benchmarking and elite gaming. GIGABYTE claims up to 40% more performance in games like Hitman 3 at DDR5-10266 with APO enabled.

For RTX 50 Series owners looking to pair their GPU with a high-performance Intel board, this is a meaningful differentiator. Check our Intel Z890 motherboard coverage on Technosports for benchmarks as they arrive.

D5 Duo X: Breaking the DDR5 Capacity-Speed Trade-off

The traditional problem with high-capacity DDR5 setups is that adding more RAM usually means sacrificing frequency. D5 Duo X solves this with the new CQDIMM standard (backward compatible with CUDIMM), delivering 4-slot-level capacity within a 2-slot footprint — without the signal integrity penalties.

GIGABYTE has collaborated with ADATA, TeamGroup, V-color, and other memory vendors to validate high-capacity CQDIMM kits for AI computing and content creation workloads. The result is a platform that hit DDR5-10266 in testing — a new high-water mark for mainstream boards.

Build Quality and Connectivity

The VRM is a robust Digital Twin 16+1+2 phase design with VRM Thermal Armor Advanced for sustained performance under load. The UD Base Plate — a full-coverage metal baseplate — adds structural rigidity and protects PCB pins during installation. M.2 EZ-Flex improves heatsink contact for better SSD thermals.

Connectivity includes 5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7, USB4 Type-C, and PCIe 5.0 M.2 — a complete modern stack. The EZ-Latch Plus, EZ-Latch Click, and WIFI EZ-Plug features make the build process noticeably smoother, especially for first-time builders.

The Z890 PLUS Series (Elite, EAGLE, FORCE, and Duo X models) will be available shortly. For the latest on pricing and availability, see our motherboard news on Technosports.
