The Shows in Detail

🕯️ Spooky in Love — New Series, Premieres July 18

This is the one everyone has been waiting for. Spooky in Love is a horror rom-com starring Park Eun Bin as a hotel heiress who can see ghosts and Yang Se Jong as a passionate prosecutor who works tirelessly to solve unsolved murder cases — the two team up in a chaotic partnership, with the heiress haunted every night by the restless spirits of people who died unjustly.

Think supernatural chaos meets enemies-to-lovers tension. Park Eun Bin is returning to Netflix remarkably fast after The WONDERfools, and the Saturday-Sunday airing slot means binge-worthy weekend viewing is already locked in. Directed by Lee Min Shoo, with each episode running approximately 70 minutes, this looks set to be one of the most-talked-about dramas of the summer.

Why watch: A K-drama lead who literally sees dead people, paired with a workaholic prosecutor who fights living criminals — the comedic and romantic potential here is enormous.

Agent Kim Reactivated — Returning Series, Finale July 25

Agent Kim Reactivated follows a single father, company manager, and former black-ops member who lived an ordinary life — until his daughter Min-ji went missing. After discovering she was kidnapped, he turns merciless and sets out for information by any means necessary, even if it means destroying everything and everyone in his path. whats-on-netflix

Starring So Ji Sub in what sounds like a career-defining role, this 60-minute-per-episode action thriller has been building momentum through June and hits its explosive finale on July 25 — airing on Fridays and Saturdays.

Why watch: A relentless father on a rampage is one of K-drama’s most reliably gripping formulas, and So Ji Sub brings genuine intensity to the screen.

East Palace — Coming July TBD

East Palace is the story of Gu-cheon, who can traverse the world of ghosts, and Saeng-gang, a court lady with a secret, as they answer the summons of the King to unearth a cursed palace’s secrets. Starring Nam Joo Hyuk and Roh Yoon Seo, directed by Choi Jung Gyu, this historical fantasy horror is confirmed for Q3 2026 — and July remains its most likely landing window. whats-on-netflix

Why watch: A Joseon-era palace setting fused with ghost-traversing mythology and a royal mystery is the kind of original premise that has K-drama fans already extremely invested.

Why July Is a Big Month for K-Drama Fans

According to Wikipedia’s overview of Korean drama, the genre has built a passionate global following through its mastery of blending romance, genre thrills, and emotionally compelling storytelling — and Netflix has become the primary global home for that experience. With three distinct stories spanning horror romance, parental action drama, and historical fantasy all landing in a single month, July 2026 is shaping up as one of Netflix’s strongest K-drama months of the year.
