The player will play as Jin Sakai who is the last samurai in his clan and he is determined to do anything to protect his people and reclaim his. Jin aims to rescue his uncle who was the leader of Tsushima samurai.

The samurai leader was captured by the Mongol leader.  Jin becomes the de facto leader of a resistance force trying to thwart the invasion and keep it from spreading to the Japanese mainland.

The main conflict is not the two opposite armies, it is inside Jin himself. He is a  traditional samurai who faces his enemies but he does not win the battle. For a successful fight, he has to use siege of weapons and tactics to terrorize the enemy.

The most interesting fact is the way Jin changes, he can shed slowly his samurai side to become something else and he will use some secret tactics, weapons like poison darts, and also more what the entire Tsushima city call “the ghost”. In the end, he is a samurai batman with a lot of combat skills and necessary weapons but one thing is true Jin alone cannot do it so he needs support from the island residents to fight the Mongols and kill their leader.

Now he makes a group of four allies among them a warrior, a monk,  and a disgraced bow master.
