How Much Has Mohanlal Earned Across the Drishyam Trilogy?
Mohanlal is said to have charged Rs 20 crore for Drishyam 3, reprising the role of Georgekutty — reportedly several times higher than what he earned for his previous portrayals of the character, marking a significant salary jump.
The progression tells the story of a franchise that has grown into a true cultural phenomenon. The superstar reportedly received Rs 5 to Rs 6 crore for his role in Drishyam, with his remuneration for Drishyam 2 said to be between Rs 10 and Rs 12 crore. Now, the actor appears to have doubled the amount again, especially with Drishyam 3 gearing up for a massive nationwide release.
Honestly? For a franchise that has become the gold standard of Malayalam crime thrillers, those numbers feel earned.
What About the Supporting Cast?
Actress Meena, who plays Georgekutty’s wife, is expected to receive a salary of Rs 75 lakh — a massive jump from the Rs 15 to Rs 25 lakh she reportedly earned in the previous instalments. Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil, who play Georgekutty’s daughters, are expected to take home Rs 1 crore and Rs 25 lakh respectively.
The pay bumps across the board reflect both the scale of this release and the emotional weight these supporting roles carry in the franchise.
What Is Drishyam 3 About?
Drishyam 3 is an upcoming crime drama thriller directed by Jeethu Joseph. The film takes place after the events of Drishyam and Drishyam 2, with Georgekutty and his family seemingly returning to normalcy. However, despite managing to evade the police multiple times, Georgekutty continues to live with a lingering sense of paranoia over the crime he concealed to protect his family. A new force may emerge in the story that could finally unravel all the secrets once and for all.
The film also features Murali Gopy, Asha Sarath, and Siddique in key supporting roles. To understand why this franchise resonates so deeply with Indian audiences, Wikipedia’s entry on the Drishyam film series is a great starting point.
