From Temple Priest to Cricket Talent Scout: Hari Saideepak’s 15-Year Journey Finally Pays Off

Some dreams don’t run on a fixed timeline — they run on faith and repetition. For Hari Saideepak, a temple priest from Warangal, that meant 15 years of 4 AM training sessions, dozens of failed trials, and a quiet belief that his shot would eventually come. It just did.

Hari Saideepak: A Double Life Built on Discipline

Hari’s routine reads like a masterclass in balance: fitness training before dawn, temple duties through the day, cricket practice in the evening, and coaching neighborhood kids after that. With limited access to professional coaching, he taught himself by studying matches and refining his game through sheer repetition — attending nearly 45 to 46 selection trials across cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Delhi over the years.

The Breakthrough

Out of over 5 lakh (500,000) registrations nationwide, Hari was selected for The Gurukul, the talent development arm of Super Cricket League 60 (SCL60) — a hybrid league pairing amateur cricketers with cricket legends.

He’s previously represented Telangana in tennis ball cricket tournaments and even captained his village team to multiple titles — proof that his talent was never really the issue, just the opportunity.

Now, He’s Creating That Opportunity for Others

Beyond his own selection, Hari has been named the Street60 City Franchise Owner for Warangal, bringing organized tennis ball cricket competition to grassroots players aged 16 to 45 across the region. It’s a full-circle moment — the man who once searched for someone to believe in him is now building that platform for the next generation.

As Hari puts it, if his journey inspires even one young player to keep going, he’ll consider it his biggest win.
